About This Blog(ger)

I’m Em. I’m a 29 year old single-person living in the land of got-married-at-18 year olds. Career-minded, well-educated, pro-woman and pro-equality liberal in a chunk of the country that upholds “family-values”. When I tell people here I don’t have kids they look at me with a mix of pity and fear. I don’t play cornhole, wear sweatpants in public, follow sports, or eat fast food. But I love the sound of cornfields in the summertime… so there’s that.

I’ve traveled extensively, lived in California (3 years) and Vegas (one year), and spent an extended summer working in Connecticut so I do have some time away from here to compare this place to. But I am born and raised in Indiana. This is a blog of frustration towards my home state and the surrounding female mentality. All peppered into my general daily frustrations toward anything and everything. I’m also attempting a big move and career change this fall and a lot of travel in the next six months or so so this will also be an outlet for all my pictures experiences and thoughts. I’ve also begun to focus on myself and my health more in the recent months, and some posts will cover nutrition, fitness, and my progress.

Some randomness: I have a Bachelors degree in Anthropology and a Masters in Environmental Public Health. I try to spend as much time outside as possible. Animals have always been a passion of mine. So has reading. I spent my college years bartending and I’d highly recommend it to anyone else currently funding their lives through financial aid. I have serious beauty-product problem. Love cooking but loathe baking. Have the very best girlfriends in the world. And cannot keep a houseplant alive to save my life. I think that’s all for now.
